What is Lioness?

I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of putting down a magazine after reading it cover to cover and feeling shit. I can’t afford anything they’ve advertised, I’ll never be as beautiful as the models and I must be less of a woman because I can’t fit into a size 0 pair of jeans. Society has made it clear that if we don’t fit the mould then we don’t deserve the finer things in life. Fashion and beauty magazines should provide an escape from this narrow minded view, yet more often than not they only help to heighten our insecurities.

That’s were Lioness sets itself apart from the rest, yes, it’s a fashion magazine that will ooh and aah at all the latest bespoke designs from McQueen and other fashion royalty. But much more than that, I want it to be a magazine that women (and men) will be able to put down and feel better about themselves. I want it to speak to people, not at them like some of the hollow “Fashion Bible’s” of our day tend to. I want people to be able to read Lioness and know that they are not alone, that they are beautiful, that not being able to afford a £600 pair of shoes doesn’t make you a lesser person. My goal is to empower and inspire, and if I can brighten just one persons day in the process, I’ll know I’m doing a good job.

My dream is that one day Lioness will be a real magazine that you can hold in your hand and carry in your bag, but for now it’s still a work in progress so please bear with me.

Always Love.
